Family Wellness
Common Ground Farm established the Family Wellness program in the belief that locally grown, pesticide-free produce should be accessible and enjoyed by ALL, regardless of economic status. This program works with individuals and families to provide a weekly share of fruits, vegetables, and herbs at an affordable rate through subsidized working CSA shares. Determination of a Family Wellness Fund scholarship is based on what the applicant family can afford and can include reducing the cost of a share for the season and/or working with the family to create a payment scheduled based on personal needs. To find out more about this program or to request an application, please contact us.
Food Pantry
Common Ground Farm has been donating fresh surplus produce to people in need through the food pantry at the Community Action Agency in Beacon, NY since our first season in 2002. Deliveries are typically made once per week during the growing season.

Farmers Markets
Common Ground Farm participates in the local Beacon Farmer's Market and Fishkill Farmers Market to help improve access to fresh, healthy food right in the heart of the city and to help promote the importance of eating locally, sustainably grown food. Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons are accepted at the Beacon Farmers Market, which operates June through October on Sundays from 10am-4pm and includes other local vendors. The Fishkill Market operates on Thursdays from 10am-2pm.
We Can! Childhood Obesity Program
Common Ground Farm has partnered with the Beacon Community Center, the Martin Luther King Cultural Center, the Beacon Community Health Center and the Green Teen Program on programs such as the childhood obesity program called We Can! (Ways to Enhance Children's Activity and Nutrition). Common Ground assisted in subsidizing working produce shares for We Can!, a nationally acclaimed program that promotes active lifestyles and healthy diets to prevent obesity in youth. We Can! is a collaboration of four Institutes of National Health: the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, and the National Cancer Institute.
