Beef Chili With Beans
Ingredients:
This recipe was served as part of NY Thursday in Beacon City High School and Middle School, October 2021
14 lbs Lean Ground Beef
28 oz Raw Chopped Onions
2 TBSP + 3 tsp Granulated Garlic
4 Teaspoons Black Pepper
8 Tablespoons Chili Powder
2 Tablespoons Onion Powder
2 oz Ground Cumin
1 10lb Can of Diced Fermano Tomatoes
2 qt + 2 CUP Water
2 10lb Cans of Marinara Sauce
24 lb cups of Canned Black Beans
Brown ground beef, drain
Add onions, granulated garlic, pepper, chili powder ,paprika, onion powder, and ground cumin
Cook for 5 minutes
Stir in tomatoes, water, and tomato sauce; mix well
Bring to boil
Reduce heat
Cover and simmer slowly stirring occasionally until thickened about 40 minutes.
Stir in beans, cover and simmer stirring occasionally.
CCP: Heat to 155° F or higher for 15 seconds. OR If using previously cooked and chilled beans: CCP: Heat to 165° F or higher for at least 15seconds.
Pour into serving pans.
CCP: Hold for hot service at 135° F or higher.
Serve with a local baked potato
